The Cubberley Master Plan envisions an updated community center and future school on a 43-acre joint-use site operated by the City of Palo Alto and the Palo Alto Unified School District.

The Plan will transform an existing dilapidated site into a state-of-art facility that can serve both City and future school needs. The plan creates 70% more green space than currently exists on site, while more than doubling the indoor area. After full build-out the site will include approximately 525,000 square feet of public facilities, including a community center, a school, offices, and shared-use facilities including gyms, a performing arts, visual arts, and multi-purpose spaces. The outdoor areas on site include fields, tennis and pickleball courts, a new playground, pool facilities, a dog park, and community gardens.

The plan was developed through four iterative meetings in a co-design process. Participants made program recommendations, selected the design concept, and provided design critiques along the way.
