Lusher Charter School Performing Arts Center

Architecture, Community Engagement
The Lusher Charter School Performing Arts Center features a 3,600 square-foot performing arts space as well as drama and dance studios with sprung wood floors. The multi-purpose room has a roll-up door that opens up to an outdoor stage that embraces the school’s live oak tree and shaded playground. The masonry for the new building was selected to blend with the existing historic campus designed by E.A. Christy. The sloped metal roof adds a contemporary aesthetic twist and enables passive energy conservation. This facility was designed in collaboration with students, faculty and parents and has become the centerpiece for outdoor performances and morning faculty meetings.
