Maison Grace

Architecture
Concordia worked closely with the owner to transform this historic, 6,400 sf warehouse into a contemporary Bed and Breakfast. Built as early as 1951, this mid-century modern warehouse exhibits a classic breeze block facade, characteristic to its original era. With the intent of hosting large gatherings, this project boats two living areas, 9 bedrooms, and a generous rear yard with swimming pool.

It was important for the pool to become the centerpiece of the backyard, which was done by designing it on an angle so its visibility was apparent from every angle. Careful consideration was given to safely transform this previous light-industrial warehouse into its current use, and reintroduce it into commerce as quickly as possible.

We worked closely with both the State Fire Marshal’s Office and the State Historic Preservation Office in an effort to bring this building up to code while honoring its historic integrity.
